COVID 19 Letter

Dear Dancers,

We hope this letter finds you all healthy and using this “time off” period to recharge.

Due to the type of business we have where we are in very close contact with many people, we need to weigh all the risks. Covid-19 is a dangerous virus and we intend to continue to consider your safety as we make decisions to get back to a new normal.

First Dance continues to monitor the progress being made for the reopening of businesses in our area and we wanted to give you an update now that Georgia has lifted the shelter in place order.

We do not, as of yet, have an exact reopening date for Private or Group lessons. We are hoping for late May for private lessons and hoping to start group lessons in June.

There will be new practices that we will be implementing:

  • Please DO NOT come in for a lesson if you are sick or starting to feel sick. You will not be charged if you need to cancel due to illness.

  • While trying to respect everyone's privacy and concerns about covid-19, we will be asking everyone to answer a few safety questions pertaining to the virus and to sign a waiver.

  • You must wear a mask and gloves for your entire lesson.

  • Your temperature will be taken before entering for your class with a hands-free thermometer. Anyone with a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or more will not be taught.

  • Private Lessons will be strict 50-minute lesson time frame allowing us ten minutes to wipe down and spray surfaces, change our masks and gloves get water and use the facilities.

  • Group Lessons will continue to be 55 minutes. In addition to the above guidelines, you will also now need a dedicated partner when you enroll in the class. We will not be rotating. If your partner cannot attend a class, you will have to work on your own. Teachers will not be in rotation. There will be a maximum number of couples per class and they will be distanced.

  • We suggest bringing in your own personal toiletries.

Hopefully, this won’t last forever, but we need to do this for now. We want you to feel safe. We want everyone to be healthy. Please trust that every effort is being made to make the studio environment as safe as possible.

We will contact you individually regarding private lessons and send you an update email regarding group classes.

Thank you and be well.

Sincerely,

Buddy Stotts and Kyle "Honey" Larsen
